2007 Seattle Art Museum – Manager of Public Programs
Developed and managed adult education programs related to the collections of the Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Asian Art Museum and the Olympic Sculpture Park with the goal of reaching diverse audiences and creating new avenues of access to cultural objects and cultural production. Programming examples include artist lectures and performances, a series of interpretive park walks with community partners focusing on issues related to the Olympic Sculpture Park site, and several symposia surrounding recently restored masterpieces in the Seattle Asian Art Museum collection. Duties included writing promotional copy, budget development, audience outreach and program development.
2003 – 2007 Cornish College of the Arts – Curator / Exhibition Coordinator
Curate twelve art exhibitions each academic year in the Cornish Gallery comprised of faculty, alumni and student artists, as well as curate and produce annual BFA Graduation Exhibitions highlighting the work of 80+ Art and Design graduates. Curator duties include: Curator of artwork and development of exhibition concepts; Design, fabricate, install and light exhibitions containing 2D and 3D artwork, multi-media installations and site-specific outdoor work. Administrative duties include: Promotions; Art direction and copywriting exhibition essay and advertising copy for direct mail and press releases. Finance; Develop and manage annual operating budget exceeding $80,000 as well as annual capital budget exceeding $100,000 Additional projects include the development and implementation of the Cornish Visual Arts Lecture Series and Cornish Art Department Alumni Relations. Responsibilities also include working proactively with Facilities and Operations departments in the design of capital projects and campus resource regulatory efforts in relation to student exhibitions. Additional duties include safety protocol development and implementation of campus wide safety policy with regards to injury prevention and response, hazardous communications, and personal safety.
2002 – 2010 Vermont College of Fine Arts – Artist Teacher
Provide studio instruction and development to graduate students fulfilling the MFA degree in Visual Art. Mediums include painting, photography, public art, installation, film and video. Additional academic support includes research guidance related to critical theory and visual culture.
2002 – 2010 Vermont College of Fine Arts – Residency Production Manager
Provide planning and management of on-campus art exhibition program of 100+ graduate students fulfilling MFA degree in Visual Art during the twice annual ten day residencies. Duties included space planning, artwork installation, facilities coordination, gallery management and production of lecture series including lectures by Beth B, Sam Durant, Harrell Fletcher, Christian Marclay and Josiah McElheny.
